The grand essentials
for happiness are:
something to do,
something to love and
something to hope for.
-Chalmers

May the best reach you all in the
New Year and fill your hearts with
Light, Love, and Happiness

Dear Friends:

I suppose that many of us already have our list of resolutions for the new year. Well, if not written down, at least rumbling around in our head. There is always something so beautiful about beginnings. Like a breath of fresh air the future holds hope and great expectations.

Even more than the power of dreams is the strength of resolve. For it is one thing to think on a thing and another to begin and finish. Like all the drawings waiting for paint, all the paintings waiting for signatures, and all the canvasses waiting to be seen, we are thus creatures involved in a work that requires of us daily “mustering.”

Just yesterday I watched my seven year old grand-daughter, together with her gymnastic team muster up the courage to perform their flips, twirls, and cartwheels to a nursing home audience. I witnessed in their young faces the confidence that comes of triumph. These dynamic little beings filled the room with a joy that came from the power of their accomplishment.

So together with our dreams, in this new year, I pray for strength and courage to go beyond our visions to a land of execution and completion. A place where in our hearts we experience great pleasure from a job well begun, a job well done. A place where victory over mind makes a winner of our spirit. Opportunities to flip and twirl our way to great satisfaction and joy.

Happy New Year
God Bless you all. OM

Soul Biz

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
-Carl Bard

Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by an encounter with another human being. Each of us owes the deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this inner light.
-Albert Schweitzer

My mind is a garden. My thoughts are the seeds. My harvest will be either flower or weeds.
-Mel Weldon (submitted by mmellow)

Every blade of grass has an angel that bends over it and whispers, "Grow! Grow!"
-The Talmud

If you have made mistakes, even serious mistakes, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down.
-Mary Pickford

Rabbi Michal once said to his sons: “my life was blessed, because I never needed anything until I had it."
-Chasidic, 18th century
